For every new year, most of us make resolutions or commitments. Changes and renewals we’d like to see happen. I’ve posted on this very blog about my “word of the year” many times.
Why? What drives us to these profound, or not-so-profound, ideals?
Hope. The never-dying, always pushing-forward hope that lives in each of us. A hope that wants to take the good and wonderful we’ve had further and farther. Or a hope that looks to a brighter future when the past has been darkness.
I know what my hopes are for this coming year, but I want to know yours. What is it that draws you forward and upward this year? What goals, even if you think them small, are guiding your steps today and tomorrow?
Let me know, because a hope shared can bring light to all of us.
Welcome back!
Thank you! š
Hope and growth, Russell. I think we are strivers.
I had a tough 2019 – taking care of ailing parents almost full time. Things have settled down for them and I have some breathing room. My goal is to finish a book that I put on hold. And to live presently and in joy. ā¤
I am glad things have settled some for you. I pray that things will continue positively for you and your parents. Lots of hope for your book, too.
