Flash Fiction Friday: Time To Heal With My Awesomeness

Here’s this week’s Flash Fiction for Aspiring Writers entry. This is a story of fiction. Any resemblance to real and existing persons is completely intentional…I mean unintentional. Really…

“This is your speech?” Malcolm shuffled the stack of index cards in his hand. “Sir, you can’t…”

“Never say I can’t. I won. I’m a winner. I can do whatever I want. That’s why I’m president, and you’re not. I wrote that.” President Joke straightened his tie and gazed into his gilded mirror.

“You wrote this?”

“Of course I did! You don’t think I can write?” Joke spun around.

“Truth?” Malcolm folded his arms.

“Well, the last bit. That son-of-a…”

“Yeah. Well, he wanted to pin all the blame on the protesters. Do you know what chaos that would bring?”

“But, they are at fault. You can’t spin it to blame the counter-protesters like this. What did they do?”

“Didn’t you see? That little girl with her love poster? Blatant attempt to incite something.”

“Incite? Calling for the deaths of every non-white-European-blooded American isn’t inciting?”

“Free speech. Look it up.”

“Sir, you can’t…”

Robert poked his head into the Oval Office. “Sir, it’s time.”

“Sorry Malcolm. Gotta run. Time to heal with my awesomeness.”
