Compassion Wednesday: Thankfulness Post #2

Real, honest-to-goodness heroes.

Individuals and organizations that decided something needed to be done.

The world is hurting, and we need to do something about it.

Those who said “I wish someone would fight poverty, free the slave, heal the broken…” and realized that maybe, just maybe, they were that someone.

I’m thankful for them.

I’m thankful for the constant presence they have in the fight against social injustice.

I’m thankful that they, unlike me, actually get out there, get their hands dirty, and show this world that there is hope.

That those that are forgotten by most of society are not forgotten by all.

They are seen.

They are heard.

And someone is going to do something about it.

Heroes. Men and Women of Action.

I thank God for them.

And I pray that they continue the fight, and that more of us join them.

Post #2 for my thankfulness week. I should have started this earlier this month, but I did get at least 2 posts in there! With the holidays upon us here in the States, I don’t know if I’ll find the time to make any more posts this week. This is a good place to be, though, if it is the last one for the week.

Click on the logos and pictures for each organization I have placed in the post above. That will take you to their websites, and you can learn more about them. I’ve mentioned each one a few times before on this blog. This is not an exhaustive list of those I consider heroes, but it’s a good start.

I would love to hear about your heroes. Drop me a comment below. Let’s all share our thankfulness for those who impact our lives and the world around us.

I would love to discuss this story and more with you. You can Contact me through email, or Facebook, Twitter, or Goodreads.
