In Search of Stories

The wind howled and sent a chill down my spine. The old house didn’t provide solid protection from the storm that brewed outside. Rain pounded the roof and walls and found every crack and crevice. Water began to pool where the floor had sunk in spots. I would not keep dry tonight, I knew that. There were more important things.

I scanned my small flashlight over dust covered furniture. Cobwebs stretched from the old sofa to the wet bar on its left. There were no footprints in the inch thick dust on the floor other my own, but I was missing something. They had to be here. This place, this was my last hope in finding them.

The floor creaked to my right and my flashlight extinguished. I kept still and slowed my breath.

“What are you doing here?” came an all too familiar voice. Raspy. Gritty.

Light flared in my eyes. I held up my arm to shield them. “Same as anyone, detective, I’m looking for stories.”

Hello everyone! Whether you’ve followed my blog for awhile, or this is your first visit, you’ve probably figured out that this is a place for stories. Like the old house above, it might not be the most stable of places, but it is built on the creative, written words. So far, they’ve been predominantly my words.

Now, I have no problem with telling story after story. It’s what I like to do. Some fiction, some not. However, this was never the full intent of my blog. The purpose behind this blog is to share stories – more than just my own. So, I’m calling for stories to share. You can call it Guest Blogging if you want, it all comes to the same thing. I want to know your story. Fiction or not.

Every Monday I have my Story Monday posts. They are just that – stories. They can be fiction, or they can be cleverly written stories to convey something deeper. They can be your story – what you want the world to know.

I also have my Compassion Wednesday where I talk about making a difference in this great big world. I would love to shine the light on more people or organizations that are making the positive difference.

So, send me an email if you’d like to guest post your story. I’d love to hear from you.

A reminder that November 2nd will be the day for the Musical Story Monday Blogfest. I would love to hear your stories for this, so go to the post, click on the Inlinkz button, and join me.

I would love to discuss this story and more with you. You can Contact me through email, or Facebook, Twitter, or Goodreads.

Don’t forget to sign-up for my monthly Newsletter to keep up to date with all that’s going on. When you sign up now, you get my two Scifi short stories as a gift!
