The Monster

Happy Flash Fiction Friday Everyone!

Let’s get back and find out what made the spiders run, and see what new threat John, Megan, and the children face now.

You can always catch up with my Flash Fiction Friday posts. Last week’s episode can be found here.

My heart sank, the world froze, and everything went silent. I wanted to scream or run for the children or do something, anything.

But I stood still.

Unable to move.

Unable to think.

Between the children and me rose a leviathan monster.

No, that wasn’t right.

No one could have dreamed this horror. Scales covered a worm like body and oozed slime and pus. Offal of slain spiders hung from enormous tusked teeth and a maw that stole my breath when I looked at it.

Then I heard the children scream again. And I moved.

I ran at the monster.
